A year before Carter Cameron moved to Stereoport, The LaundroKing Wash and Fold was one of the blandest places in the entire city. The twenty-four hour station at the very edge of Spectre territory was a necessary evil, people went to do laundry and they did it quick, going about their business as soon as they were done.

Not that Carter Cameron changed everything, but, something did. (Continue Reading)

I write this bits each day before I post them. It’s a practice routine. A practice routine I am sharing with you guys.

____

A young teenager stood at the edge of the sidewalk, the very tips of his black and blue block styled sneakers hovering in the air over the street cement.

“If you take one more step, kid,” Someone on the other side of the road called, “We’ll cut you up.”

… Even though everyday is new post day around here lately! Today I’m posting a bit about two of my favourite characters, Noel Nakamura and Dean DeCosta.

Noel is a character I’ve been writing since I started to take up writing seriously again in 2003-ish? He’s gone through a lot of changes, but I hope his heart is still there, you know? Some of you old cats who follow my stuff better recognize him inside there, alright?

And Dean? Well, Dean owns my heart, a few others, I’m sure…

(Also of note! Thanks for pointing out the few typo errors here and there guys! At the moment, these are barely edited! I’m trying to keep it that way on purpose, or not, I’d never share anything! I appreciate the help!)

____

“There are gradients in this city, you know?”

Dean DeCosta was all legs when he sat, his body slack in the black upholstered chair that was pulled away from the table it belonged…(Continue Reading)

Hello friends!

It’s September 1st and I am officially opening up Dark Dark Cities, my repository of serialized short stories and novels about cities that don’t exist. For now, I’m focusing on one city that I like to call Stereoport.

As an introduction, I am going to start posting something called 30 Days of Stereoport, a flash fiction primer to the world of Stereoport. Each day in September, I am going to post up a new piece. So, since today is September 1st, I have the first piece right here.

Please, please enjoy and if you do, feel free to comment. It’s kinda how we roll around here. Navigate through this blog post or the handy chapter index on the left side. Just click on what’s Now Playing!

As a teenager, Scout used to ride his bike down the highways where the lack of cars wasn’t as disturbing as it may have once been. Other people would walk the highways as well, not so late at night when the city’s electricity was subroutined out to the residential areas, but, they would walk during the day sometimes, just because it was easier…(Click here to read more!)
